AFP, WSJ “Donations of Korean Wave Stars are Surprising”

France news company, AFP, and United States’ Wall Street Journal and other popular foreign news companies are writing articles about the donations of Korean stars for Japan.
AFP wrote an article titled, “S.Korean stars help former colonial power Japan” and reported that many stars in Korea are stepping up to help Japan and introduced actors like Bae Yong Jun and Ryu Si Won.
AFP reported, “Bae Yong Jun donated 1 billion won and also said that his prayers will always be with the Japanese.”
They also reported that “Korean Stars have donated for the cause of the Chinese in the past but donating for the Japanese were rarely seen. This was because of the history between two countries.”
Wall Street Journal reported other cases such as Kim Hyun Joong and Song Seung Hun. They did not leave out the details about Bae Yong Jun.
Also, various Japanese media reported by writing “Yon-sama has moved into action for the wounded Japan.”
The newspaper also reported a past donation made by Bae Yong Jun in 2004 for the Indonesia earthquake. “Bae Yong Jun’s donation will be divided throughout all of Japan and will be used for recovery of Japan.”
