49 Days Episode 19

The new episode starts off with Yi Su doing the gesture to call on the elevator. As he makes the gesture, Ji Hyun's necklace lights up and fills up with a tear. Yi Su and Ji Hyun are both surprised, and they exchange puzzled looks. Moments later, the necklace fills up with another drop of tear! 

"Are these 3 droplets of tears?" shouts Yi Su. "These are 3 droplets of tears."

Yi Su congratulates her in his usual boyish way. Ji Hyun gets all teary and asks if she can return to life now. More importantly, she stops Yi Su from telling her who the 2 people are. She says that, once she finds out then she thinks she will only be able to love these 3 people for the rest of her life.(More like the script writer wants it kept secret for now) What? I thought she couldn't remember anything once she wakes up! Anyway Yi Su says that she is wiser than she looks. Before they can continue the conversation, Ji Hyun's vision blurrs and she wakes up in the hospital. 

Ji Hyun's mother and Seo Woo are crying moments before they are deciding to pull the plug. Then Ji Hyun's father notices that she has opened her eyes. 

Scene changes to Heaven Restaurant. Yi Kyung leaves Kang's place, and the manager asks her if she is leaving. Yi Kyung says that she no longer has a reason to stay. The manager calls Kang right away. Kang is deeply worried if Ji Hyun had left this world. 

Meanwhile, everyone talks to Ji Hyun. Ji Hyun's mother calls Kang, and tells him that he had waken up. Kang is happy to hear the news. 

Yi Kyung returns to her villa. She misses Ji Hyun. 

Kang rushes to the hospital and tells Ji Hyun's parents that his father has made the decision to invest in their company. Ji Hyun's father deeply thanks him. Doctor interrupts the scene and says that it's a medical miracle. Kang kindly offers Ji Hyun to take her out for a walk outside. 

The family and Seo Woo celebrate their reunion with great joy. But she is ever so cool towards Kang. Ji Hyun keeps distance and is quite cold towards Kang. Nothing more or less than a friend. Kang is a bit sully to find that Ji Hyun does not remember their time together during the journey. The mother feels bad that Ji Hyun can't remember Kang, but she is too busy celebrating her daughter's revival. Kang is happy for Ji Hyun, but at the same time sad that she cannot remember her feelings. 

 

Min Ho hears the news that his fiance has waken up. Guess where he visits first! Yi Kyung's place. Yi Kyung coldly rejects her and says that Ji Hyun is here no more. Min Ho says he knows. Yi Kyung is annoyed and surprised that he still came here knowing that Ji Hyun has left. Min Ho apologizes to her saying that what he had done was nothing personal. 

The family enjoys more reunion time. Ji Hyun says that Kang has stayed too long, and says that he should get going. Saddened, Kang goes back home and talks to the manager. He feels bad that he can't be whole heartedly happy, because Ji Hyun can't remember anymore. What's more important is that she has come back. But he cannot hide the disappointment at the corner of his heart. 

 

Kang goes to see Yi Kyung and says that Ji Hyun is back. He tells her that she can't remember anything. He also thanks her for helping Ji Hyun and offers the job to work at his restaurant. Yi Kyung refuses, saying that she has someone waiting for her. Is she really preparing to go with Yi Su? Is she the last person that appeared on Yi Su's list?

Yi Kyung hands Kang's mother's inheritance to Kang. It's from Ji Hyun, and she has gotten it somehow. Yi Kyung doesn't know how she has got it either. Yi Kyung tells Kang that Ji Hyun has once said that she would have never made through the journey without Kang. 

In Jung texts Min Ho to have a lunch together. Min Ho stands her up and she cries at the restaurant in front of two servings of lunch. Min Ho is busy dealing with lawsuits filed against him. He may even face criminal charges. 

Ji Hyun works hard for her rehabilitation. Kang greets her with a cheesy smile. This makes Ji Hyun uncomfortable. 

She says, "what's wrong with him?" 

Kang does not give up and take her out to walk (or should I say roll because she's on a wheelchair)? Ji Hyun does not like their awkward conversation. Ji Hyun asks him if he would come everyday without working. He says yes. Ji Hyun asks him why he wastes his talent in architecture, when he has such a great talent. Kang flirts and says if she would come and see his work if his pursues that dream. Ji Hyun cuts him off saying, "what's up with him?"

Seo Woo and the mother ask In Jung to go talk to Ji Hyun. They say it's the least she could do after her betrayal. In Jung begs that she doesn't talk to Ji Hyun. Seo Woo pushes her and says if she has at least a bit of conscience left, she should go. In Jung gives in and goes to the hospital. Ji Hyun greets her trecherous best friend. She tells her a story of her dream where In Jung had given her heels to Ji Hyun at the engagement ceremony. Ji Hyun says that shoes are symbol of pride for women, and talks about how great of a friend she is to willingly give them up for a friend. Deeply touched and sorry for what she had done, In Jung weeps at home looking at their picture together. 

This episode is more about the Yi Su and Yi Kyung couple. Yi Su does not like the look of Yi Kyung's dingy place. Suddenly he receives a very unpleasant call. Yi Su's superior scheduler comes to see Yi Su. He whines and says that he has done nothing wrong, and at the fact that how the human feelings will return once his job is over. The superior says that he should go ahead and see Yi Kyung tomorrow like their deal. 

Yi Kyung receives an invitation from Yi Su to the garden next day. For the first time in this drama, Yi Kyung washes up and puts on facial products. She goes to the garden all dressed up. She finds Yi Su with a stern face. Yi Su then smiles when he looks at Yi Kyung. 

"Long time no see Song Yi Kyung," says Yi Su. " You haven't changed a bit."

Yi Kyung cries and touches his face. They they hug.

 

Yi Su says that although he has played with other girls from time to time. His home was always Yi Kyung, and he has bought engagement ring for her. He puts the ring on Yi Kyung. Yi Su then takes her to theme park. He says that they have never been to one because they were poor. The couple have great time gother. They go out and take pictures together. Yi Su does her wallpapers at her home, while Yi Kyung goes to shop for dinner. This is the man thing to do in Korea. Do the wallpapers! The psychiatrist comes to see Yi Kyung. Filled with jealousy, Yi Su tells him to bug off. 

"Doctor?" murmurrs Yi Su after the doctor has left. " That's nice but not good enough for Yi Kyung. He is a single-father."

Yi Kyung returns home, but is not really impressed with the wallpapers. She wonders why he would fix the house, when she is leaving with him tomorrow. He says that he wants the place clean even just for a day. They sleep together in bed. Yi Su wakes up early and wakes Yi Kyung up. He asks her to go take a walk with him. 

Yi Kyung still can't believe that she is walking with Yi Su. Yi Su reminds her that he is still dead. He says he has waited 5 years to see her again, just to give her a ring. Just so that he could ask her for marriage. 

"But not anymore," adds Yi Su. " I no longer feel the same way." " Now I want to tell you something different. I loved you until then. I don't feel the same anymore. I waited 5 years just to tell you to move on." He says that she cannot come with her. Even if she dies, they will not be together. The only way for him to be happy in the after life is for her to let go of him. He tells Yi Kyung to throw away the ring. Yi Kyung only cries. He takes the ring off her hand and throws it in the river. He asks her to be happy for him, then kisses her. 

 

Min Ho goes to see his mother with dementia. His mother recognizes him, and Min Ho cries. He is then taken custody by police. 

Yi Kyung visits Ji Hyun. Ji Hyun recognizes her and she wonders how. 

"Because I'm going to die."

says Ji Hyun...
