Kim Tae-won (김태원, 1965. 4. 12. - ) is a renowned Korean guitarist with over 20 years of experience in Korean music industry, currently leading one of the most successful rock bands in Korean music history, Boohwal.

Kim Tae Won, “Dissipated a fortune” with Sad Story
Kim Tae Won in Rock band ‘Revival’ escaped from the throes of death but it was misdiagnosis. Kim Tae Won told the story that he almost dead because of drowning, marijuana and hepatocirrhosis on MBC Entertainment ‘Golden Fishery-Knee-Drop Guru’ on 6th. Kim Tae Won said, “I was diagnosed with hepatocirrhosis. There are many black parts in my river on the X-ray” and added, “I felt my death and I began to wrap up everything around.” He was working for ‘A Moment to Remember’ OST and said, “The lyrics was like posthumous work” But he said, “But it was misdiagnosis and I spent all my money” and made people laugh. Adolescence
He was a talented billiards player, having achieved the level of 300 points as a highschool senior. His guitar skill was even more outstanding: He is said to have been able to play proficiently the guitar riff in Led Zeppelin’s “Babe I'm Gonna Leave You” in middle school and the guitar solo of (towards the end of the song) Deep Purple's "Highway Star" at a much faster speed than normal.. He slowly rose to fame among fellow students in the Seodaemun area, his home town. He was called “the best guitarist everybody knows”.
Boohwal
The Beginning
At 20, he started a rock band "The End" with two colleagues, one of whom was Kim Jong-Seo who later left the band to join a then more established rock band Sinawe. With "The End", he performed covers of western rock songs for audiences in various places in Korea. It was when Kim Jong-Seo joined "The End" that the band changed its name into "Boohwal", which means resurrection in Korean. After Kim Jong-Seo left the band, Lee Seung Chul joined the band as a new lead vocal, who brought huge success to the band with Boohwal's first hit number, "Heeya (희야)."
